Luke 17 (Douay-Rheims)
Passage
And he said to his disciples: It is impossible that scandals should not come. But woe to him through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should scandalize one of these little ones. Take care of yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him: and if he does penance, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turns back to you, saying: I repent: forgive him. And the apostles said to the Lord: Increase our faith. And the Lord said: If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this mulberry tree: Be uprooted and be planted in the sea. And it would obey you. But which of you, having a servant plowing or tending cattle, will say to him when he has come in from the field: Come at once and sit down at table? And will he not rather say to him: Prepare my supper and gird yourself and serve me while I eat and drink; and afterwards you shall eat and drink? Does he thank that servant for doing the things which he commanded him? I think not. So you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say: We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we ought to do. And it happened, as he was going to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a certain town, ten men who were lepers met him, who stood far off. And they lifted up their voice, saying: Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. When he saw them, he said: Go, show yourselves to the priests. And it happened, as they went, that they were made clean. And one of them, when he saw that he was made clean, went back, glorifying God with a loud voice. And he fell on his face at his feet, giving thanks. And this man was a Samaritan. And Jesus answered and said: Were not ten made clean? And where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give glory to God, except this foreigner? And he said to him: Arise, go your way; for your faith has made you whole. And being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them and said: The kingdom of God does not come with observation. Nor shall they say: Behold here, or behold there. For behold, the kingdom of God is within you. And he said to his disciples: The days will come when you shall desire to see one day of the Son of man. And you shall not see it. And they will say to you: See here, and see there. Do not go after them, nor follow them. For as the lightning that flashes from under heaven shines to the parts that are under heaven, so shall the Son of man be in his day. But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. And as it happened in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They ate and drank, they married wives and were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered the ark and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it happened in the days of Lot: they ate and drank, they bought and sold, they planted and built. And on the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. In the same way it shall be on the day when the Son of man shall be revealed. In that hour, whoever is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and whoever is in the field, likewise, let him not turn back. Remember Lot's wife. Whoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it: and whoever shall lose it shall preserve it. I say to you: In that night there shall be two men in one bed. The one shall be taken and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together. The one shall be taken and the other shall be left. Two men shall be in the field. The one shall be taken and the other shall be left. They answered and said to him: Where, Lord? And he said to them: Wherever the body is, there the eagles also will be gathered together.
